Arsenal supporters believe Erling Haaland should be banned or fined for throwing the ball at Gabriel's head following Manchester City's last-gasp equaliser at the weekend.

John Stones scored in the 98th minute at Etihad Stadium on Sunday to ensure both teams shared the points after what was a thrilling encounter. Haaland had put Pep Guardiola's side ahead in the first half before Gunners defender Riccardo Calafiori levelled the scores a short time later.

Gabriel headed Arsenal in front soon after and the away side appeared to be in control. Leandro Trossard was controversially sent off for kicking the ball away just before the half-time whistle, however, which meant the Gunners sat in and defended for the whole of the second half.

Video footage emerged after the match of Haaland throwing the ball at the back of Gabriel's head moments after Stones equalised for the champions. This caused quite the debate online, although the City striker was not booked for his actions and will not face retrospective action.

However, it's clear many Arsenal fans do not agree with this. football.london asked supporters in a poll: Should Erling Haaland be punished for throwing the ball at Gabriel's head?

With more than 3,400 responses, 2,044 people (60 per cent) voted yes - he should be banned. Just over 1,130 people (33 per cent) voted yes - but just a fine, while 248 people (7 per cent) voted for no punishment.

To the disappointment of many, Haaland will not face any punishment for his actions towards Gabriel. This is because referee Michael Oliver did not issue a yellow or red card to Haaland after deeming it was not an act of violent conduct. John Brooks was on VAR duty and agreed with Oliver, deciding that a red card for Haaland was not necessary. As a result, the FA will not get involved or issue a punishment to Haaland.
