The Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat Club has completed a competitive season with national and international success.

The season finished with a fine performance at the National Dragon Boat Championships at Holme Pierpoint in Nottingham.

The club's men's, women's, mixed, and senior crews finished fifth in the league after a series of competitive events, including a spirited return to racing in Liverpool docks.

In October, the club's teams enjoyed a competitive yet fun-filled weekend in Limassol, Cyprus, where the Ladies Premier crew bagged medals.

The trip also offered a welcome chance for some winter sunshine and socialising with teams from other countries.

This year, the club proudly had three members who, after extensive training and trials, represented Great Britain at international events.

Despite the season winding down, the club is already gearing up for future competitions and training opportunities.

Training continues through the winter months at Defford, near Pershore, and at Croft Farm Lake.

The club is focused on training and racing but also prioritises fun and camaraderie.

In January, the Pershore Phoenix team will be organising taster and training sessions.

Anyone interested in trying out the sport, from absolute beginners to returning paddlers, is welcome to email for a free introductory session.

The session will provide initial coaching, an enjoyable time, and an opportunity to mingle with the team over a warm drink afterwards.
