Person airlifted to hospital after two-vehicle crash

A PERSON was airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Bournemouth.

Emergency services were called shortly before 8.30am to The Broadway in Kinson after a crash between a vehicle and a parked car.

The ambulance service and police attended the scene, before the fire service were called shortly after 9am.

Dorset Police closed the road while emergency services worked at the scene. It reopened at 12.13pm.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust said: “We sent one double-crew land ambulance and an air ambulance.

“One individual was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.”

The fire service sent two crews to the scene, from Ferndown and Springbourne.

A spokesperson for the service said: “We were called to The Broadway, Bournemouth at 9.04am this morning for what appears to be a collision between two vehicles.

“We sent two crews, from Ferndown and Springbourne, and they have extricated a woman from one of the cars by removing the roof.”

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 8.34am of a collision on The Broadway in Bournemouth involving a single vehicle that had collided with a parked car.”
