John Henderson and Peter Wright upset the odds last year to claim the World Cup of Darts for Scotland, with the duo beating Austria in the final to lift the trophy.
Their run to the final was incredibly difficult too, with Wright and Henderson toppling Wales and Netherlands en route to the tournament's final.
Their title defence starts on Friday evening against Hong Kong, and Wright will pair up with Henderson once more despite the higher ranked Gary Anderson being available. With Anderson unavailable last year, Wright paired with Henderson and the duo stormed to the title, and Anderson believes that the world No.62 deserves his shot at defending the title he helped win.

"Me and Gary discussed it during the Premier League," revealed Wright. "Gary was up for the World Cup, but then he thought it would be nice for John to come and try to defend the title, which I'm sure we will. "I'm really looking forward to playing alongside John again. It's going to be fantastic." Wright is looking to add a second World Cup title having won the honour back in 2019 with Anderson, but 'Snakebite' has also experienced lows in the tournament, having lost the 2015 and 2018 finals against England and Netherlands.
Wright described the tournament as one of the hardest to win, and also suggested that representing your country gives the event a different feeling to other competitions. "You cannot explain the feeling of winning. It's incredible," said Wright, making his eighth World Cup of Darts appearance. "You're doing it for the whole of Scotland that are watching and supporting us. It is a very special moment. "It's probably one of the hardest tournaments for a player, because you're not just playing for yourself. "If you don't perform, you're not just letting yourself down, you're letting your partner down, your country down. "You sometimes try too hard which I've done in the past when I've lost in finals with Gary, but I've learnt from that." The Scottish duo kick off their title defence against Hong Kong on Friday in a best-of-9 event, while England also start their World Cup campaign on the same night against Czech Republic.
