Petite NYC bedroom goes from drab to fab after gorgeous 1-day makeover

On this episode of 1K Dream Room, host Will Taylor (@brightbazaar) helps Danae make the most out of her tiny New York City bedroom. Danae wants to maximize the space of her petite abode, while taking advantage of the room’s ample natural light.
In addition to maximizing the space, Danae wants Will to add a splash of personality to the “very dull” decor. With just one day and $1,000 to spend, can Will work his magic and turn Danae’s bedroom into a functional space that better suits her lively personality? Let’s find out!
Will kicks things off by adding some low-budget flair with a customized headboard, which he made by wrapping colorful fabric around an existing headboard, and using a staple gun to attach the fabric. Will then bolsters the bed area with some wall shelves to serve as nightstands, as well as a perfectly curated gallery wall that features plant-themed artwork and decorative wall planters.
Lying beneath the bed is a scalloped jute rug, which Will says brings “whimsy and fun” into the space, and pillows with a scalloped design serve as cozy compliments on the bed.
A rattan table lamp adds a calming, woodsy touch of light to the space, and it seamlessly sits atop a new wooden desk, which combined with a wicker swivel office chair, creates a cohesive workspace that maximizes the space perfectly.
With the transformation complete, Will invites Danae back in to see her new room! Immediately after seeing the space, Danae is shocked by what Will has been able to accomplish. She especially loves the wall planters and the revamped desk area. “I feel like I can go to bed tonight, and actually wake up to something I enjoy seeing,” she says. “I can’t wait to live in here and just exist.”
