Philippe Clement WILL have Rangers transfer kitty in January as board put faith in manager
John Gilligan has promised Philippe Clement that he WILL have transfer funds to spend in January.
And the interim Rangers chairman insists the board are fully behind the manager as they look to chase down Celtic. Clement oversaw a massive overhaul at Ibrox during the summer with 11 new faces checking into Govan. But the Belgian's rebuild was disrupted by a shortage of cash as the Light Blues were forced to offload high-earners before bringing players in.
Long-serving stars such as Connor Goldson, Borna Barisic and Ryan Jack were all offloaded as Clement acted ruthlessly to breathe fresh life into his squad. And while the likes of Connor Barron, Jefte and Hamza Igamane have made promising starts, Clement will be bankrolled with more money during the winter window.

Gilligan told Sky Sports: "We're trying to bring stability to the player trading model to try to improve it and I think the manager we've got is the man to do that. There will be [money for Clement to spend in January]. I think with any manager at any football club, if you can sell and make a profit then it helps with the buying. It doesn't depend on it but it certainly adds to it and helps with the whole opportunity of improving.
"We keep talking about the player trading model because ideally we want to be able to bring in players and get them to play properly for the team and do well, but hopefully we sell them on and reinvest. We'll have accounts coming out quite soon and at the AGM, it will become apparent that the financial sustainability is solid."
Meanwhile Gilligan is adamant Rangers can win the league THIS season despite trailing their Old Firm rivals by five points.
