Philippe Clement insists he'll never give up on the title despite watching his Rangers side drop more points in the league.

Struggling Gers toiled to a 1-1 home draw against Dundee United, handing Celtic the chance to go 11 clear at the top of the Premiership ahead of tonight's clash at Tynecastle. It was a missed opportunity for the Light Blues, as Aberdeen suffered their first defeat of the season away to St Mirren. Clement's flops did move within eight points of the second-placed Dons but could've cut the deficit to six had they got the job done against the Tangerines.

Fed-up Rangers fans have, understandably, already written off their dreams of ending the season as champions. But defiant Clement is refusing to throw the towel in as the under-fire Belgian battles to save his job.

He said: "Fans can think what they want and that's their right also. I never give up if something is not possible. And I see also what I see in the second half. Everybody sees also what they see in the second half. We need to have that level much more in the next couple of months and take much more points.

"Of course, it's a big gap. And you don't know what other teams, how many points they lose along the way. But we need to get more points. And you see also if you play like you played in the second half, you will get more points. But we need to put that as a standard for the team, for everybody. That's what I said in the dressing room also."

Sam Dalby's header gave United the lead at the break before Vaclav Cerny rescued a point for the hosts in the second-half. However, despite an improved showing after the interval, Rangers couldn't find a crucial winner.

Asked if he's confident he can turn things around, Clement said: "Yeah, for sure. For sure. 100%. If we play like we play in the second half we will win a lot of games. But it needs to be every time like that. And we need to create a team and a mentality and a culture also to have that every three days. For a lot of boys it's new, they need to step in that culture because that's what Rangers is about."
