Philippe Clement touted for Anderlecht job because of Rangers 'modern, attacking football'
Philippe Clement has been touted for the Anderlecht job because of his "modern, attacking football" at Rangers.
The hotseat at the Belgian giants is vacant after Danish coach Brian Riemer was sacked last week with the side sitting sixth with just three wins from their eight league games. They are in need of a lift and Clement, who has plenty of experience in the league, has been named as a candidate in the press over there.
The 50-year-old has three Belgian titles to his name as a manager, two with Club Brugge and one with Genk and so has the required credentials. And former Anderlecht striker and Belgium international Nordin Jbari reckons the Gers boss would be an ideal candidate, as would former Antwerp boss Mark van Bommel.

Clement has just recently signed an Ibrox extension until 2028 and his association with rivals Brugge could also be an issue. But Jbari has played that down as a potential hurdle.
He said: "Philippe Clement likes to play modern, attacking football. He would be a very interesting option, even though he used to play for and manage Club Brugge.
"There's obviously a financial aspect to it too because he's at Rangers and whether he would even consider a move to Anderlecht. But he's definitely an option for Anderlecht alongside van Bommel."
