Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has launched a subtle dig at Premier League leaders Chelsea while wishing teammate Juan Mata a happy birthday on Twitter.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper, who has been crucial in United's stunning defensive record this season, was on the receiving end of a joke from his Spanish teammate when he celebrated his birthday back in November when Mata posted a picture of a youthful De Gea on Instagram.
And now, five months later, it is De Gea's turn to poke fun at Mata as he posted a picture of the 29-year-old doused in blue paint, the colours of his former club Chelsea.
The post was accompanied by the caption: "
Definitely red suits you better! Happy birthday my friend!
Definitivamente te queda mejor el rojo! Feliz cumpleaños amigo!
