Pickleball tournament to raise money for Fountain of Life Rescue Shelter

Mar. 8—THOMASVILLE — The Fountain of Life Rescue Shelter, 612 E. Clay St., will host a pickleball tournament in Thomasville on March 23 and 24 at the Thomas County Central Middle School courts.

This tournament is a fundraiser for the 18-bed shelter for men and women, which is open Thursday through Sunday. The event is the primary fundraiser for the year to help fund the services and aid provided by the shelter, Fountain of Life said in a press release.

People staying at the shelter can check in at 6 p.m. Thursday — Sunday evenings and must check out at 8 a.m. each morning, the release said.

"Those staying at the shelter will find a safe place to sleep and eat, have the opportunity to do laundry, and take a hot shower," it said. "The shelter also provides resources and contacts for the many services provided by our community and governmental agencies."

The tournament will be a round robin format, with brackets based on age and experience levels. Tournament sponsors, players and volunteers are needed and desired. Interested participants (players and volunteers) can register at
