Pictured: Man who was fatally stabbed near Brixton Tube station

This is the first image of a young man who was stabbed to death near Brixton Tube station.

Mr Jerome, 23, from Thornton Heath, was attacked at around 8.20pm on Wednesday, July 21.

Paramedics raced to the scene, but despite their best efforts he was pronounced dead at around 8.45pm. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course, police said.

Locals said Mr Jerome had been riding a quad bike for a music video outside a chicken restaurant in Brixton market when he was attacked.

His family are being supported by specialist officers as the investigation into the circumstances continues, the Met said.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, said: "Brixton Road near to the Tube station is a busy area of London and there were many people in the street, on buses and in cars yesterday evening.

"We have spoken to a number of witnesses already and I am asking for anyone who was in the area and who may have seen anything, or have footage on their phone or dash cam, to please contact us.”

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released with no further action taken.
