350ft-high images of the Manchester United legend in his swimwear fill the Kent coastline as he contemplates his 25-mile trek

Three days ahead of Eric Cantona’s Channel swim, huge images of the Manchester United legend have been beamed across the White Cliffs of Dover.

Cantona is completing the 25-mile France to England swim as part of a beer promotion – and to big him up further, the larger than life images of him in his swimwear dominated the Kent coastline.

The 49-year-old ex-France striker also appeared wearing a golden silk robe – plus the tailored swimsuit he will wear for #LeBigSwim which featured his trademark popped collar.

As well as launching the countdown to the August 6 swim, the images also parodied his former Manchester United team mate David Beckham who was projected onto the White Cliffs in his underpants during his modeling days.

Trawlers might follow Monsieur Cantona but he won’t run into any sardines unless they are thrown at him – and if all else fails, the sight of a 350ft bearded Frenchman might put a stop to the Channel Tunnel storming in Calais.
