FANS were overjoyed as Albion won their first Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

There was apprehension ahead of Sunday's fixture - the Seagulls had never won against the team when playing away.

But the anxiety evaporated after Pascal Gross scored twice in the space of ten minutes in the first half.

United attempted to push their way into the game, with an own goal in the 67th minute giving them a chance to bounce back, but the team could only create half chances as Ronaldo and Lisandro Martinez had shots blocked, with Erik ten Hag starting his new role as manager with a loss.

The result puts Albion sixth in the Premier League table and marks the fourth season out of four under manager Graham Potter where the team have won their first away match.

The match came just 93 days after United was hammered 4-0 at the Amex Stadium.

According to a Premier League forecast from FiveThirtyEight, Brighton is currently projected to come sixth in this year's season, with a 17 per cent chance of qualifying and a one per cent chance of winning the season.
