Plymouth Argyle legend Graham Coughlan returns to football management
Former Plymouth Argyle captain Graham Coughlan is back in football management with National League side Boston United.
Lincolnshire-based Boston, whose nickname is the Pilgrims, were promoted via the National League North play-offs under Ian Culverhouse last season. However, they parted company with him towards the end of October and now Coughlan, who celebrated his 50th birthday on Monday, has been appointed as his successor.
Boston are in 23rd position out of 24 in the National League with a record of two wins, five draws and 11 defeats. Coughlan's first match as manager is at home to Braintree Town on Saturday.

He worked as a coach and assistant manager for his former Argyle boss Paul Sturrock at Southend United before going on to take charge of Bristol Rovers, Mansfield Town and Newport County. The ex-Pilgrims' defender left the South Wales club in June.
Coughlan made 193 appearances for Argyle, all of them in the starting line-up, between 2001 and 2005, and was a key part of their two title successes in three years as they climbed up to the Championship.
Boston said in a club statement: "Graham, who turned 50 on Monday, has extensive managerial experience in the EFL with the likes of Bristol Rovers, Mansfield Town and Newport County – as well as a developmental role at Sheffield United.
"Following a thorough three-week recruitment process, the Pilgrims have opted for the Irishman to become the club's new manager as they seek to retain the National League status earned in May. He assumes immediate control of first team affairs at the Jakemans Community Stadium, as preparations continue for the visit of Braintree Town on Saturday."
