Plymouth Argyle reviewing football structure after Neil Dewsnip departure
Neil Dewsnip has left his role as Plymouth Argyle director of football, the club's chief executive officer Andrew Parkinson has confirmed.
Parkinson explained Argyle were in the process of reviewing the structure of their football department after the appointment of Miron Muslic as their head coach. Dewsnip first arrived at Home Park as a technical consultant in 2019 but later that year took on the role of director football, which encompassed everything from the first team to the youth set-up.
Dewsnip acted as a mentor to both Ryan Lowe and Steven Schumacher early in their managerial careers and had two stints last season as caretaker boss, working alongside first team coach Kevin Nancekivell.

Talk of Dewsnip's departure came soon after Argyle parted ways with Wayne Rooney as their boss on New Year's Eve, but it was not announced until this afternoon when Parkinson attended an introductory Press conference with Muslic. The delay was due to finalising all the legal settlements.
Parkinson said: "We have really took the opportunity to look at the whole structure within the football department and I can confirm that Neil has left the club now.
"I have got to say and put on record that I think he has been instrumental in the development of the football club from where we were five, six years ago in League Two, and everything he has done to put a stamp on the club; the academy has been developed and progressed significantly, his vision, and him mentoring some of the managers we have had in those five years, so I want to thank him. We have got a lot of gratitude for everything he has done.
"Also, it's also worth highlighting some of the best moments we had at Home Park were down to Neil and Nance last season, and they came in at a very difficult time. He will always be able to come back to Home Park any time he wishes."
Argyle picked up 10 points from the last six games of last season under Dewsnip and Nancekivell, including a final day 1-0 win against Hull City at Home Park, to retain their Championship status.
On whether a successor would be appointed to Dewsnip as director of football, Parkinson said: "We are reviewing that, and that's a conversation with our new head coach as well. It's also one the board needs to take away.
"I think it's a great opportunity for the club. We have got great ambitions to develop, with the academy being built as we speak and that coming on stream, but also in line with our vision and values of where we want to be in three or four years' time then we have got to have the right person to take us on that journey. It will be very much a thorough process in terms of getting that person on board."
