Pochettino backed to complete brutal Tottenham raid, with bitter Chelsea move to leave Spurs fans seething
Harry Redknapp has claimed that Harry Kane could leave Tottenham for Chelsea this summer to reunite with his former manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The England captain has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United recently, but if Redknapp is right, Chelsea could make a shock move for him.
It’s no secret that Kane wants to win a major trophy before his career ends, which hasn’t been possible with Tottenham. With that in mind, he could be tempted to head to Chelsea.
Although, Chelsea are currently in the midst of their worst season since 1994, picking up just 39 points from 32 matches so far.
This is despite club co-owner Todd Boehly spending over £600m on new signings this summer.
A lack of a proven goal scorer has been Chelsea’s key issue – netting far fewer than any other ‘big six’ club this term.
With that in mind, a move for Kane could be a fantastic bit of business. The Tottenham key man has scored 24 goals in 32 Premier League outings so far, trailing only Erling Haaland in the scoring charts.
Ironically, Chelsea have only scored 30 as a collective this season, which shows how much of an impact Kane could have on the team.

Redknapp: Kane is ‘building a house’ near Stamford Bridge
Now, according to Redknapp, Kane could look to make the daring switch to Stamford Bridge this summer. Indeed, the former Tottenham manager thinks the striker would prefer to stay in London than move up north.
Kane’s contract will expire in 2024, so if Spurs fail to tie him down to a new deal. Man Utd, along with Bayern Munich and PSG are all interested in signing him.
However, Redknapp has suggested that Chelsea could scupper Erik ten Hag’s plans.
Speaking to the Beyond the Pitch Podcast, he said: “It will be interesting if Pochettino goes to Chelsea.
“[Kane joining Chelsea] wouldn’t go down well with the Tottenham fans at all that’s for sure. It’s a great move for him and I think he’s [Harry Kane] building a house in that area.”
“He’s a family man and he’d be happier not moving to the north of England or wherever he’d have to go.”
As mentioned, it’s no secret that Chelsea will be looking to sign a new centre-forward this summer. They have scored just 30 goals in 32 Premier League matches so far – the fourth-fewest in the entire division.
With that in mind, Kane could be the missing ingredient the Blues need to climb back up the table.
Although, even if Redknapp thinks it’s possible, it still seems fairly unlikely Kane will be joining Pochettino at Chelsea. Man Utd, Bayern and PSG remain the favourites to sign him, but this will be a story to keep an eye on in the coming months.
