Popular hair technician who created ‘invisible extensions’ shortlisted for award
A hair technician has told how her own battle with self-confidence inspired the creation of her popular ‘invisible extensions’.
Agnieszka Maziarz, who runs Hair It Up from her home-based salon in Queensbury, is a finalist in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards’ ‘Best New Talent’ category.
What started as a way to boost her own self-esteem has since become what she calls her ‘signature invisible keratin’ extensions.
“I started doing extensions around six years ago but the normal method like everyone else,” Agnieszka said.
“I’m wearing extensions myself and my hair is really thin, I always wanted to hide it as much as I could. That’s when I started playing with it.
“Most clients I have it’s just for the invisible keratin. They don’t have to come as often. They feel more confident and they have really good reviews. They say their life’s changed, they’re having compliments from strangers.
“This invisible keratin is more discreet.
“I love that smile after I’ve finished it and they’re smiling more happy. They’re really confident. That’s what makes me happy.”
The winners will be announced across two nights in April during special award ceremonies in Birmingham.
The Hair and Beauty Awards have been dubbed “the UK’s leading industry awards”.
