Two of the world's in-form forwards go head to head on Friday night as Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah face off for Portugal and Egypt.

Real Madrid talisman Ronaldo has overcome a slow start to the 2017-18 season to score 18 goals in his last nine La Liga games.

Nobody has scored more than Ronaldo in Europe's top five leagues in 2018, though Salah's incredible goalscoring run - including four against Watford before the international break - sees him leading the European Golden Shoe standings for the campaign.

Both forwards will want to lay down a marker ahead of the 2018 World Cup as their countries look to them to lead the way, especially with Portuguese hopes high as the Euro 2016 champions.
