Pose and LA's Finest stars team up for new queer comedy
Pose star Billy Porter is set to direct an upcoming queer teen comedy.
The feature, with the working title of To Be Real, comes from LA's Finest star Gabrielle Union's I'll Have Another Productions and it follows a group of friends who escape their hometown for a big city Pride Weekend, reports Variety.
Already described as an LGBTQ Superbad crossed with Booksmart, the official synopsis reads: "To Be Real follows three queer friends who escape their hometown for Pride Weekend in New York City where they discover that life over the rainbow is an insane, raunchy, often divisive, but ultimately FIERCE non-stop party."

Tony and Emmy Award winner Porter, will be directing from a script by Ryan Shiraki, who has himself directed episodes of the likes of On My Block, Katy Keene, and Awkward.
The movie with be released on Amazon Prime Video and is set to be produced by Union, with Shiraki, Porter, and Kian Gass executive producing.
The third and final season of Ryan Murphy's Pose hit BBC Two and BBC iPlayer earlier this month.
Porter plays Pray Tell in the hit show, a gay character who is diagnosed with HIV during the AIDS epidemic in 1980s New York City.

He has since made the decision to open up about his own HIV-positive status, which he has kept private since being diagnosed in 2007.
"Having lived through the plague, my question was always, 'Why was I spared? Why am I living?'" he wrote for The Hollywood Reporter.
"Well, I'm living so that I can tell the story. There's a whole generation that was here, and I stand on their shoulders. I can be who I am in this space, at this time, because of the legacy that they left for me. So it's time to put my big boy pants on and talk.
"I was the generation that was supposed to know better, and it happened anyway. It was 2007, the worst year of my life."

He continued: "For a long time, everybody who needed to know, knew – except for my mother. I was trying to have a life and a career and I wasn't certain I could if the wrong people knew.
"It would just be another way for people to discriminate against me. I was embarrassed. I was ashamed. I was the statistic that everybody said I would be. I survived so that I could tell the story. That's what I'm here for."
Pose season three airs on FX in the US and BBC Two in th UK.
