Hull City caretaker boss Andy Dawson will be forced into at least one change to the starting XI for Saturday's early kick-off at Middlesbrough as he looks to get the team back to winning ways.

Charlie Hughes is suspended for the 12:30pm kick-off at the Riverside Stadium after collecting his fifth booking of the season in Tim Walter's final game in charge on Tuesday night, the 2-0 defeat which saw him sacked in the hours following that game.

Hughes clashed with Ike Ugbo at the MKM Stadium and picked up his fourth booking for City, adding to the one he had collected for Wigan Athletic prior to his move to East Yorkshire in mid-August, meaning he will sit this one out but be back for next weekend's home meeting with Blackburn Rovers.

Defender Sean McLoughlin will come in for Hughes as a straight swap and make his first appearance since coming off at half-time in the 4-0 defeat at Norwich City before the October international break.

Elsewhere, Dawson must decide whether to make any other changes with Ryan Giles pushing for a return against his former club and Kasey Palmer keen to start back-to-back games for the first time since joining on deadline day in August, having been handed a first home start by Walter in midweek.

City's predicted starting XI: Pandur, Drameh, McLoughlin, Jones, Coyle (c), Slater, Simons, Giles, Longman, Palmer, Pedro.
