PREMIER LEAGUE: Has the mutiny started at Manchester United? Unhappy player slams LVG for 'not being fair on him or the fans'

A Manchester United player has told a national newspaper journalist he is being held back by Louis van Gaal's tactics

The first signs of dissent among Manchester United players have been revealed by a national newspaper journalist.

Daily Telegraph sports writer Jason Burt told BBC 5 Live that an "un-named" player has told him that he is only "half the player he can be under Louis van Gaal."

Burt added that the player insisted the current playing style at United is "not fair on him or the fans. He can't express himself properly and he finds it very difficult to play here."

When asked, Burt added that United's young, up-and-coming stars such as Mempis Depay and Anthony Martial, do "absolutely not" feel they can raise their concerns with the manager.

United face a battle to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League but victory against Leicester at the weekend will send them top of the Premier League able.

However, van Gaal's tactics are regarded as negative and boring by the fans and many have been demanding the Dutchman is sacked despite the on-pitch success.
