Raheem Sterling makes his City home debut against the Champions.

Sergio Aguero is the only change to the team that won 3-0 at West Brom last Monday - he is in for Wilfried Bony in attack.

For Chelsea, Asmir Begovic replaces the suspended Thibault Courtois and Ramires replaces Oscar in midfield.

Wenger said: "Alexis Sanchez will have an impact. He is a player who can make good decisions and has a great fighting spirit - away from home that is even more important.

"To start matches yes he is ready but to last 90 minutes is another question. You play him as long as you can.

"Crystal Palace are one of the strong teams in the league I believe. They have a good defence and have potential in attack. We expect them to be very combative, and the pitch here is always a very committed pitch.

"You have to prepare for the fight but you also mustn't forget to play."
