Premier League: Spurs thrash Stoke to close the gap at the top

A pair of doubles from Harry Kane and Dele Alli have seen Spurs remind Leicester there is still a title race as they thrashed Stoke 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium.

Kane opened the scoring with a wonderful strike from the corner of the box into Shay Given's bottom corner in the first half.

But the game turned in the second half as Spurs scored three goals in 15 second half minutes.

First Alli chipped Given when sent clean through and then scored his second with volley from 10 yards out, either side of a tap-in for Kane.

Alli even had time to record a contender for miss of the season when he hit the post when in front of an open goal.

The 4-0 win lifted Spurs to eight points clear of third-placed Manchester City and have crucially closed the gap to five points with Leicester at the top.
