Six Spain-based players have been named in the FIFPro 2013 XI but the Premier League was completely shut-out.

Sergio Ramos and Dani Alves were named as two of the best defenders on the planet, with Xavi and Andres Iniesta starting in the midfield.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi meanwhile, were placed up front.

European champions Bayern Munich had Manuele Neuer, Philipp Lahm and Franck Ribery represented, whilst Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva were given places from Paris Saint-Germain.

Five players who appeared in the Premier League in 2013 - Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Luis Suarez, Yaya Youre and Robin van Persie - had been on the 23 man shortlist for the Ballon d'Or but none made the team of the year.
