Jordon Ibe created two goals as Liverpool came from behind to beat Preston 2-1 at Deepdale, though a scare for new recruit Emre Can put a bit of a dampener on the victory.

Preston took a shock lead when Josh Brownhill turned the ball in on the stroke of half time from close range after Liverpool failed to clear a corner.

The hosts changed their entire team at the break, with Liverpool doing the same throughout the second half.

The game appeared to be ebbing towards a slender victory for Preston, but Ibe turned it on its head with a blistering burst of pace to create the equaliser for Suso, who did well to cut onto his left foot and arrow the ball into the opposite corner.

Ibe created the winner with another quick turn of pace before crossing for Peterson, who tucked in from close range.

The only negative for Liverpool was a calf strain suffered by new signing Can, who was replaced early on.

Liverpool now travel to the USA for their pre-season tour.

19' PRESTON CHANCE - Free header for Tom Clarke, who nods the ball just wide from the set piece. Jones was nowhere and that should have been the opening goal for PNE.

33' PRESTON CHANCE - Coutinho slips inside his own half, allowing Garner to drive at goal - but Garner's powerful shot is batted away by Jones.

34' LIVERPOOL CHANCE - Big chance for Liverpool as Lambert's neat pass finds Ibe, but the 18-year-old takes a touch before shooting over. Ibe should have shot first time.

45' PRESTON GOAL! PNE 1-0 Liverpool! Brownhill bundles in from close range after Jones had made a good save to keep the initial effort out.

74' LIVERPOOL GOAL! 1-1! Suso levels for Liverpool with a superb goal. Ibe makes it with a very strong run that takes him to the edge of the PNE box. He lays off to Suso, who cuts inside to his left foot and finishes well into the top corner.

77' LIVERPOOL GOAL! Peterson makes it 2-1 to Liverpool! It's another goal created by the impressive Jordon Ibe. This time he beats his man to the byline and crosses low for Peterson, who finishes first-time from close-range.

Jordon Ibe (Liverpool) The 18-year-old injected much positivity into Liverpool's attacks and was instrumental in both Liverpool goals.

Can Ibe break into the Liverpool team this season? On this evidence, absolutely. This performance will give him plenty of confidence that he can emulate the success Raheem Sterling experienced last season. Without Suarez, Liverpool will need the likes of Ibe to step up and show what they've got, and Ibe has plenty of talent.
