Norwich City's record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel marked his Premier League debut with a towering header that earned Norwich a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Everton fell behind through an unlikely source. Steven Whittaker jinked past two Everton challenges before guiding a brilliant shot towards the bottom corner. The ball bounced back off the post and straight to Whittaker again, who rolled in from a tight angle.

Everton responded in emphatic style. Ross Barkley, who had been superb all game, collected the ball on the edge of the box, shifted it onto his left foot and drilled an unstoppable drive into the far corner. It was an outstanding strike and one befitting of his impressive performance.

Four minutes later Everton moved ahead through Seamus Coleman, who tapped in from close range after Nikica Jelavic's shot was parried into the Irishman's path by John Ruddy.

But Norwich levelled with 19 minutes to play when Dutch international Van Wolfswinkel rose well to steal the headlines with a header that left Tim Howard rooted to the spot.
