Frazier Campbell celebrates scoring for Cardiff against Manchester City (PA)

Fraizer Campbell put in the performance of his life as Cardiff City came from behind to beat Manchester City 3-2, their first win in the Premier League.

The former Manchester United trainee put his body on the line against the big-spending Blues and was rewarded with two late goals from corners after Aron Gunnarsson cancelled out Edin Dzeko’s spectacular opener.

Manchester City dominated possession but Cardiff created the better chances in the first half as Joe Hart made saves from Steven Caulker and twice from Campbell.

It looked like business as usual for the visitors when Dzeko fired in a rasping finish from Sergio Aguero's backheel, but Gunnarsson struck after Joe Hart - who made several good first-half saves - parried a Campbell finish.

Despite Manuel Pellegrini's side piling on the pressure, Campbell fired a late brace from corners, with Hart at fault for the first goal. Sub Alvaro Negredo scored his first Premier League goal, but it proved to be a consolation as Cardiff held out for a famous win.

Fraizer Campbell (Cardiff City) – A bustling, all-action performance from Campbell, whose career has been held up by injuries. He led the line brilliantly and deserved his two goals.

11, 43, 44 – Hart makes superb stops from Steven Caulker, and twice from Campbell, as Cardiff threaten the most in the first half.

37 – Great block by Ben Turner and Campbell on Yaya Toure’s goal-bound shot, epitomising Cardiff’s commitment to the cause.

52 – GOAL! Dzeko fires in a brilliant effort to put the visitors ahead.

60 – GOAL! Gunnarsson equalises from close range after Hart bats out Campbell’s finish. Delirious scenes.

79 – GOAL! Things get even better for the home fans when Campbell bundles the ball in after Hart flaps at a corner.

87 – GOAL! The home fans do the Poznan as Campbell again converts at a corner, with a towering header this time.

90 – SIX minutes of injury time are added, although with good reason as there had been some hold-ups.

90+2 – GOAL! Sub Negredo pulls one back with a guided header but it’s too late and Cardiff hold on.

TALKING POINT – Are Manchester City genuine title contenders? Their soft centre away from home reared its head again, and a reliance on Vincent Kompany. It is far too early to make any judgements, but Hart made one vital error and they still look beatable.
