The paper reports that City face two huge battles in the transfer market this summer: securing a deal for Napoli's Edinson Cavani, and hanging on to Sergio Aguero in the face of interest from Real Madrid.

Aguero's personal life make keeping him difficult, the Telegraph reports, due to his estranged wife having moved back to Madrid (and also sometimes Buenos Aires), taking Aguero's three-year-old son Ben with her.

As for Cavani, several papers (including the Telegraph) claim that a deal with Paris Saint-Germain is almost done, though the Daily Mirror says that Cavani has agreed personal terms with both City and PSG, and that it will come down to whoever will pay him more.

Both clubs are happy to meet Cavani's reported £53 million buy-out clause, though PSG are currently favourites as they are expected to offer £250,000-a-week to the Uruguayan, some £50,000 more than City originally offered.

The Daily Mail claims that City have agreed to match that wage packet, but suggest that there's another factor at work: Real Madrid. The player himself apparently wants a "dream move" to the Spanish capital.

Paper Round's prediction? This will become the summer transfer story that refuses to die, with the papers dredging up a new titbit of nonsense every day until the end of the August transfer window... and by the time Cavani signs on the dotted line, everybody will have long stopped caring.

Manchester United are to celebrate regaining their title by going on a huge summer spending spree, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils apparently want to try and ensure that next season's Premier League title race is exactly as turgid and predictable as this year's tedious monstrosity, and to that end the Mirror reports that Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao, Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski and Everton left-back Leighton Baines will all be brought in during the off-season.

It won't all be one-way traffic, though: the paper claims that Wayne Rooney is likely to quit, while Nani, Anderson and Paul Scholes will all move on.

There's plenty of coverage of the Manchester United players' celebrations in the papers, with the Red Devils stars apparently "partying" until 5:45, 6:00 or 7:00 in the morning, depending on which paper you read.

The Daily Star's back page shows Rio Ferdinand with a bottle of champagne beside the words "Out of your league - Rio taunts rivals", the story being that Ferdinand apparently claimed that United will leave their competition behind for several years thanks to "the way they ground them into the dirt" this season.

It's the same paper's front page photo that caught our eye, however: it show Alex Ferguson swigging from a bottle of what appears to be some sort of vintage champagne. Nothing wrong with that, of course - except that closer inspection of the photo shows Fergie a stone or two lighter and with hair a shade or two darker than we've seen for some years now, suggesting that the Star's exclusive pic probably dates back to around 2008.

The Sun's photo editors have done a much better job: they've found a picture of Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Anderson getting a Manchester-City branded taxi between nightclubs at 2am after Monday night's victory.
