Sunderland 1-1 Newcastle

Martin O’Neill: "I didn't know (that Sunderland fans were making offensive chants about Newcastle’s Steven Taylor). That would be poor, in very poor taste, if that's the case. I would be disappointed to have heard that.

"(Taylor’s pre-match dismissal of Sunderland) didn't figure in my team talk, but some of the players had passed comment about it. He's absolutely entitled to his opinion. I am delighted he made their bench."

Alan Pardew: "If you want an example of a centre-half playing where you have got to head it, kick it, cover people, get in the right position and then have the calmness to play, (Fabricio Coloccini) was your example.

"I come from a famous football club, West Ham, and that was like watching Bobby Moore. He was terrific."

QPR 1-1 Everton

Mark Hughes: "The emotion we are all feeling is frustration because I think we showed that our football is good and we try and play in the right manner. We try and get the ball down, try and get width and get our technical players to take people on.

"We have been doing that since the start of the season and we have had good performances, but haven’t been able to take that final step. The guys are in the dressing room really disappointed because this was an opportunity."

Davis Moyes: "(It was) very, very harsh to give someone a red card for that, incredible. I don’t even know if (Steven Pienaar) touched him, I think (Jose Bosingwa) lifted his leg and it hit Steven rather than Steven hitting him so I think it was the wrong decision.

"It was going to make it difficult to win when it went to 10, but I think we still tried to counter-attack at the right moments."
