Darkness descends on Craven Cottage

43 minutes into the Premier League game between Fulham and Manchester United a reported blown fuse plunged Craven Cottage into darkness.

While the players waited in the middle of the pitch, and then retreated to the changing rooms, amused fans whipped out their cameraphones and tried to capture the scene.

And in the light of the flashes, the result was actually rather charming, as the video shows.

After a 12-minute delay the match did resume – for just a couple of minutes until the half-time whistle arrived, and then again as normal and without further incident in the second half.

Manchester United went on to win the game 1-0 and cement their lead at the top of the table.
