Manchester City went top of the Premier League on Saturday thanks to a late Erling Haaland penalty in a 2-1 win over Fulham.

In another reduced Saturday schedule, the champions hosted Marco Silva’s side in arguably the headline fixture, with Nottingham Forest drawing at home to Brentford, Brighton beating Wolves, while Leeds won a thrilling 4-3 game against Bournemouth before Everton squaring off against Leicester City at Goodison Park.

Sunday then sees Mikel Arteta’s take the Gunners across London to play bitter rivals Chelsea in a huge capital derby, while Manchester United travel to Aston Villa for the first game of the Unai Emery era.

Newcastle make the long journey to Southampton and West Ham host Crystal Palace before another heavyweight clash between Tottenham and Liverpool wraps up the Sunday schedule.

The penultimate round of fixtures before the winter World Cup in Qatar, the first sprint is almost complete.
