Premier League table: Latest 2020/21 standings, fixtures and results today
Manchester City are Premier League champions as Manchester United’s defeat to Leicester City on Tuesday night sealed the title for Pep Guardiola’s table-toppers.
Man City had been made to wait for the title as Chelsea fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 at the Etihad on Saturday, with United then winning at Aston Villa on Sunday.
However, a heavily rotated United XI lost 2-1 at home to Leicester to ensure City are champions without having to kick a ball this week - and the Foxes’ win boosted their Champions League qualification hopes at the expense of top four rivals West Ham, Liverpool and Tottenham.
Elsewhere, Fulham were relegated on Monday night after a 2-0 home defeat to Burnley, meaning all three relegation spots are confirmed.
On Wednesday night, Chelsea lost 1-0 to Arsenal as the Blues’ Champions League qualification hopes took a hit, while Man United and Liverpool play their rearranged Old Trafford game on Thursday.
