GK: Julio Cesar (QPR)

The Brazilian's sensational double-stop to deny Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor might just be the save of the season so far.

RB: Rafael (Manchester United)

The Brazilian has matured into a fine full-back this season and provided plenty of energy down the right flank as United vanquished Liverpool.

CB: Clint Hill (QPR)

The defender has had a few tricky moments this season but looked imperious against Spurs in a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road.

CB: Ashley Williams (Swansea)

Made a crucial clearance off the line at Goodison and proved a formidable barrier as Swansea held Everton to a 0-0 draw.

LB: Leighton Baines (Everton)

A regular presence in our Team of the Week, Baines was a constant threat again for Everton at home to Swansea, combining dangerously with Steven Pienaar.

RM: Jason Puncheon (Southampton)

Caused havoc all afternoon with his direct running and was unlucky not to cap a great performance against Aston Villa with a goal when his effort came back off the post.

CM: Frank Lampard (Chelsea)

If this is his final season, Lampard is going out in style. He produced another fine, controlled performance and scored against Stoke to move to within eight of Chelsea's all-time record.

CM: Michael Carrick (Manchester United)

At the heart of United's early control as they beat Liverpool 2-1, and important as they looked to shut up shop in the second half.

LM: Stephane Sessegnon (Sunderland)

A persistent threat throughout the match, drifting from flank to flank and causing havoc in the final third with West Ham unable to pick up his runs or contain his pace.

ST: Romelu Lukaku (West Brom)

Two goals for the Belgian in a 3-2 loss at Reading, but he also hit the woodwork twice in a formidable performance.

ST: Edin Dzeko (Man City)

Even a penalty miss could not take the gloss off an excellent performance up top which saw him eventually get on the scoresheet against Arsenal and provide plenty of clever play on the counter.
