Manchester United striker Robin van Persie took the honours in our Goal of the Week competition.

The Dutchman's cultured finish from an Antonio Valencia cross in the win at home to Stoke City took 34 per cent of the vote.

Second was Juan Mata for his neat finish after Eden Hazard's wonderful through ball, the Spaniard claiming 28 per cent of the votes cast.

Raheem Sterling's goal against Reading was third, meaning Emmerson Boyce had to settle for fourth despite scoring a spectacular strike against Swansea.
