Premier Sports Cup fixtures revealed as Aberdeen and Hibs among TV picks

Fixtures for the Premier Sports Cup group stages have been released.

The competition, featuring Hibs and Aberdeen from the outset, kicks off on July 13. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren sit out until the knockout stages having qualified to compete in Europe competition thanks to last season's league placings.

The SPFL have also confirmed which games will be on TV, with Jimmy Thelin's first game as Aberdeen boss screened on the opening weekend. The Dons are away to Queen of the South as the Swede looks to get his Pittodrie reign off to a flyer with victory in Group A, where they are also joined by Dumbarton, East Kilbride and Airdrie.

The Dons will also be broadcast when they take on Rhys McCabe's side at Pittodrie on Tuesday, July 23. Motherwell, Hibs and Dundee United also have home games on Premier Sports.

SPFL Chief Operating Officer Calum Beattie said: “We are pleased to be able to announce the schedule and TV selections for the group stage of next season’s Premier Sports Cup and very much look forward to the tournament kicking off in mid-July.

“Today’s publication of the fixture list follows the recent announcement of record prize and TV money of over £3.5m for the 2024/25 Premier Sports Cup, which will see the winners receive £400,000 and each participating club guaranteed at least £30,000.”
