PREP GIRLS BASKETBALL: Falcons get back to .500

Jan. 19—CAYUGA, Ind. — A pair of three-game losing streaks in December dropped the North Vermillion Falcons record under .500.

Since then, North Vermillion has won five of six including a 46-32 triumph over Covington on Thursday night allowing the Falcons to even their record at 10-10 on the season with three regular-season games remaining. The Falcons also close out the Wabash River Conference season with a 4-3 mark.

Long-ranged shooting was a key to victory for North Vermillion. Braxtyn Dunham and Cadence Dunham combined for seven 3-pointers and along with Kera Dunham, they combined to score 41 of their team's 46 points. Cadence had a game-high 17, while Braxtyn and Kera each finished with 12.

Leading scorer for Covington was Sydni Crain with 10. The Trojans fall to 10-12 overall and 3-4 in the WRC.
