PRINCE Andrew is allegedly refusing to vacate his 30-room mansion despite a reported cut to his allowance which it is said will render him unable to afford the maintenance.

Since 2003, Andrew has lived in the 98-acre Royal Lodge estate in the grounds of Windsor Castle under a 75-year lease.

However, it is thought that his brother King Charles is planning to cut Andrew’s £249,000 annual allowance, which would make paying for the upkeep of the property more difficult.

According to the Mirror, Andrew has spent more than £7.5 million renovating the property since he moved in.

They report that he and ex-wife Sarah Ferguson – with whom he continues to live with in the Royal Lodge – feel as though they are being pushed out of the property.

Should his allowance be cut, the Duke of York would then have to financially rely upon his navy pension and business investments.

Following the death of the Queen, Andrew was stripped of his publicly-funded armed police guard (although King Charles agreed to pay for private security).

When he married Sarah Ferguson in 1986 the Queen gifted Andrew a house in Berkshire.

However, he later sold the home to Timur Kulibayev, the billionaire son-in-law of the former president of Kazakhstan for £15m in 2007.

Kulibayev tore down the original house in 2015 to build his own.

But the property still lies empty, with nobody having lived on the land since it was sold.
