Princeton falls short in Region 3 co-final at South Charleston

Mar. 7—SOUTH CHARLESTON — Princeton tried to come back from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter but fell short in a 53-51 loss to South Charleston in a Class AAAA Region 3 co-final Thursday night.

The Tigers were held to six points in the first and eight in the third. They trailed 39-31 in the fourth and got as close as five in the fourth but the Black Eagles were able to hold on.

Britt Beasly led Princeton with 20 points. Nik Fleming added 17.

Deshad Williams scored 13 for South Charleston (18-7), which will be the No. 5 seed in next week's state tournament and will take on No. 4 Jefferson Tuesday at 11:15 a.m.

Princeton finished the season 11-13.
