Champions League: PSG president blames referees for Real Madrid defeat and says Neymar '100%' staying at the club

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi claimed the referee helped Real Madrid overcome his side in their Champions League clash on Wednesday night, and insisted that Neymar would not be leaving the club.

Al-Khelaifi even called on Uefa to act after a series of refereeing decisions that he believes to have cost his club in the Champions League over the past 12 months.

"We can speak about the referee," Al-Khelaifi told beIN Sports post-match.

"Two yellow cards, which were not, and an offside against Kylian [Mbappe] that was also incorrect.

"The small things, such as these, can also make the difference against big teams like Real. It was not solely because of this but it helped Real, of course.

"Last year, in Barcelona, the referee. Today, again, the referee. I think that Uefa have to do something.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s double and a late goal from Marcelo turned around a game that the Parisians had led through Adrien Rabiot.

Ronaldo, formerly a PSG target, was ineffectual in open play but scored twice to change the game while Neymar, all tricks and fancy touches, failed to have a telling impact.

But Al-Khelaifi was not in the mood for questions about Real Madrid’s interest in the Brazilian, responding: "Of course, 100 per cent Neymar will be a PSG player next year."
