The 25-year-old Colombia international has been a first-team regular for the Eredivisie side for the last four years and feels he is ready to move on

PSV right-back Santiago Arias says he is ready to move to a higher level, aiming for a move to England, Germany or Spain.

Colombia international Arias joined the Eredivisie side from Sporting in 2013 and has since been a first-team regular, winning consecutive league titles with PhillipCocu's team.

Nearing the end of his fourth season in Netherlands, though, the 25-year-old feels it is time to find a new club, but maintains he must continue to play regulary as the 2018 World Cup approaches.

"I have a contract until 2019 with PSV, but I am ready for the next step," Arias, who has been linked with Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham over recent months, told Algemen Dagblad.

"In the summer I hope there is clarity as soon as possible. My agent knows I want to go to Germany, England or Spain and is working on that.

"But it is important that there is a sufficient prospect of playing time. If there is nothing, I'll stay here. I've already played over a hundred appearances for PSV.That's not crazy, right?"

Arias is an attack-minded full-back, charging forward regularly for PSV, and he revealed that tendency has always been part of his game.

"As a child I have never had to defend," he said. "I was always a striker. When I was 15, my coach said to me: 'You will be better as a defender, otherwise you won't make it'.

"Scoringa goal still means everything to me.You can dedicate a goal to your girlfriend or your family. That does not work with a defensive action, hence the desire for goals.

"When I see a hole, then I go.But I'm obviously a defender first.I don't hate it anymore like I used to."
