New pupils at County Durham school injured with sewing needle by fellow pupil
A school is investigating after several year seven children were injured by another pupil with a sewing needle.
Seaham High School, in Seaham, said a child had been collected from the site following the incident on Friday.
It is understood the incident was reported Durham Health and Safety Service for advice.

A message from Seaham High School to parents of pupils said: “We are aware of reports on social media concerning an incident on Friday at the school.
“Some of these reports are becoming low increasingly exaggerated so we would like to clarify the following for all parents.
“There was an incident on Friday afternoon where a number of Y7 students were hurt by another pupil. The incident involved a child with a sewing needle.”

“The school contacted Durham Health and Safety team and followed their advice.
“The child responsible was collected and staff at the school are investigating.”
