QPR and Brentford fans are being encouraged to ‘Stand Up For Stan’ in the 10th minute of the Championship clash at Loftus Road tonight.

Both sets of supporters will be asked to show their support for the iconic Stan Bowles, the forward who shone for both clubs.

Bowles, 68, is suffering from Alzheimer’s and a fund has been set up to help pay for his care.

In addition to Monday’s show of support, the matchday programme will be dedicated to the legendary No10, who played 315 League games for QPR and 81 for the Bees.

QPR fans held a similar at a pre-tribute season friendly against Bournemouth in July.

Speaking after that game, Ian Holloway said: "Having spent a lot of my life here, I know what Stan means to QPR. The tenth minute applause brought a tear to my eye, it really did.

“I love this club and Stan epitomises what QPR is all about. My heart goes out to him and his family for everything he’s going through.”
