Qualifying and recent results

Ahead of Euro 2012, we are casting our eyes back over the past two years and assessing each country's record.

Portugal opened up qualifying with a 4-4 home draw against Cyprus and a 1-0 loss in Norway - the combination of results forcing a change in manager as Carlos Queiroz was replaced by Paulo Bento.

The new man oversaw a resurgence in Portugal's campaign as the country went on a five-match winning run.

A defeat to Denmark in the final qualifier meant Portugal had to settle for second place before drawing Bosnia-Herzegovina in the play-offs.

Despite fears that Portugal would suffer a shock elimination, they drew 0-0 away before a sensational 6-2 win at home.

Since qualifying, Portugal have drawn 0-0 away at Poland in a friendly and were also held to a goalless draw by Macedonia on May 26.
