Rangers confirm pre-season plans as two more friendly opponents revealed

Rangers have confirmed more pre-season plans with two more friendly opponents to add to Manchester United.

Gers are already taking on the Red Devils at Murrayfield on July 20 as fans in the capital and surrounds get a chance to see the team without much travel. It has now been announced that Birmingham City, on July 24, and Union Berlin, on July 27, will also provide Philippe Clement's men with friendly opposition. Both matches are away from home.

The clash with Brum will help pay respect to a former player of both clubs, Trevor Francis, who passed away last year. Francis is recognised as one of Birmingham's greatest ever players and also left a mark on the Ibrox club during his spell, and will be honoured by the Trevor Francis Memorial Match.

Union will be the last opponent before Gers' Scottish Premiership campaign kicks off a week later and the Bundesliga side will be a big test as they were in the Champions League last year.

Rangers will return for pre-season training on June 24 before travelling out to the Netherlands for a training camp, where some matches will be arranged. They'll then return for the three scheduled games before taking on an as yet unknown opponent on the league's opening day.
