Rangers Europa League squad revealed as two big names miss out

Rangers have been forced to leave two big names out of their squad for the Europa League.

The Ibrox side have submitted their 21-man A list for the league phase and the headline news is that both Danilo and Rabbi Matondo have been left off. The group is supported by the 'B' list which is made up of under-21 players.

Matondo faces several weeks on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury against Celtic and having to be brought off during the first half, and that is likely the reason behind his omission. However, £5.5million signing Danilo, while having his fitness problems last season, has been in matchday squads this campaign and made a few appearances.

Manager Philippe Clement complained last year after feeling he was left with an unbalanced squad with predecessor Michael Beale leaving certain players off the list.
