Security chiefs have labelled Rangers' trip to Malmo this week as "high risk" after rival fans bought tickets for the away end.

Helsinborgs supporters snapped up briefs for the Gers section of fans inside Eleda Stadion which has sparked safety fears ahead of Thursday evening's Europa League tie in Sweden. Philippe Clement takes his troops to play their opening fixture of the new campaign and around 1000 fans are expected to join them for the first group stage game.

Swedish intelligence have indicated, however, that Helsingborgs punters will also be in attendance to support the Scottish giants amid a "friendship" between the two clubs.

Malmo head of security Peter Narbe admitted he is concerned ahead of the match this week as he said: "We know there is a friendship there between Helsingborgs fans and Rangers fans.

"There may be a risk that they want to present themselves in a negative way. We are aware of that. It is likely that there will be Helsingborgs supporters who have bought tickets in the home section. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're behaving badly, it is important to point out."
