Rangers missing from SPL fixture list

The Scottish Premier League will release their fixture list for the 2012/13 season on Monday morning without Rangers.

Instead the name "Club 12" will replace the crisis torn Glasgow giants.

Charles Green's consortium completed the purchase of the business and assets of Rangers as a newco on Thursday after failure to secure a Company Voluntary Arrangement consigned the club to liquidation.

The former Sheffield United chief executive now needs the support of other SPL sides before his club will be admitted to the top flight.

Regulations require two weeks notice to be given before holding a general meeting, where SPL clubs will vote on the issue, so July 2 is the earliest date that a general meeting can be convened for the newco vote.

All 12 member clubs need to vote on this application and eight votes are required for Rangers to be playing SPL football next season.

If successful then Rangers will assume the "Club 12" fixtures.

The fixtures will be announced at 9am on Monday.
