Rangers mock Malmo with 'missing you already' post after Euro foes trolled Gers

Rangers have mocked Malmo with a "missing you already" message after their Europa League foes trolled the Light Blues earlier this week.

The Ibrox outfit made the trip to Sweden this evening and stunned their opponents with what was ultimately a comfortable 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Nedim Bajrami and Ross McCausland. It was a result which would have come as a shock to the Swedish league leaders who expected to pick up three points with manager Henrik Rydstrom going so far as to say his side would "probably" beat Gers.

But for punters it was a particularly sweet success after Malmo had shared footage of their previous wins from 2011 and 2021 over the Gers with the note: 'When we met in 2011, you ended up in the fourth division. When we met in 2021, you ended up in the Europa League final. We've missed you'.

And after the Scottish club's win this evening, their own social team responded: "Thanks for the warm welcome, @Malmo_FF.

"Missing you already," accompanied with a tongue out emoji and Bajrami's celebration photo.
