Rangers noise ovation as Buffon and Drogba lead the 20 stars blown away by Ibrox atmosphere

It's no secret that Scottish fans are considered to be some of the most vocal and passionate in the world.

The famous 'Hampden Roar' has entered into football folklore, and the atmosphere at Celtic Park on a European night is legendary.

On the other side of the city though they'll tell you that there's nothing that can touch the experience of a raucous Ibrox - as Ianis Hagi famously said "Ibrox, baby."

Some of the world's greatest players have been blown away by the Rangers crowd, with some even going on to play for the club after being struck by the atmosphere.

Record Sport has gone back through the archives to find 20 of the most famous quotes about the famous old ground.

"Celtic create a great atmosphere home and away but I still think the most intimidating stadium I have played in was when we played Rangers.

“There must be something about the city of Glasgow because they made so much noise. Normally as a goalkeeper you block out the noise of the fans but the noise they made that night was impossible to ignore.

“We had Henry, Ronaldinho, and Messi playing for us and I can’t think of another occasion when those three were on the same field and we didn’t score.

“Rangers fought like warriors that evening and I am sure a big part of their performance was down to the fans and the atmosphere they create for their players.”
