Rangers rocked as two clubs offer long-term contracts to Ryan Kent amid continued Ibrox stay talks
Rangers star Ryan Kent has reportedly been offered four-year contracts by two clubs as it looks continually likely that he will walk away from Ibrox this summer.
The 26-year-old winger will be out of contract in the summer and can leave the club on a free transfer, if the Glasgow club cannot get him to agree an extension.
Gers boss Michael Beale has previously stated that only two players who are soon to be out of contract will be quitting Ibrox, striker Alfredo Morelos and veteran keeper Allan McGregor.
However, Beale did admit after the Scottish Cup semi-final loss to Celtic on April 30 that the former Liverpool man has “possibly” played his last game at Hampden for Rangers.
Kent has played 44 times this season in all competitions, scoring three times and adding 10 assists. However , he’s not quite produced the same level of performance as last season when he laid on 19 goals.
But despite that, the attacker is still very much a player in demand, especially if he costs nothing.
To that end, Football Insider reports that the player has been offered a contract by Turkish side Fenerbahce.
However, they have rivals for the player’s signature in the shape of Championship winners Burnley.
The Clarets have offered Kent the same length of contract and are known to have been talking to the winger since January.
Burnley offer better salary package
FI adds that Vincent Kompany’s side, who will be back in the Premier League next season, are believed to have offered a higher salary than Fenerbahce though.
Since moving to Ibrox back in 2019, Kent has made 218 appearances across all competitions, netting 33 goals and providing 57 assists.
He was also part of the squad that stopped Celtic’s 10-in-a-row bid under Steven Gerrard and played a major role as the club reached the Europa League final last season.
However, it looks increasingly likely that the tricky forward will be playing in either England or Turkey next season.
Gers are back in action on Sunday when they host Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
